E.L.S. is run by Paul Hölsgens MA. Paul studied "French linguistics" and "Germany studies" in Nijmegen as well as "European studies" at the famous RWTH university in Aachen (Germany). As a former French teacher he knows the difficulties students face when they learn a foreign language.
Paul offers language courses for adults (German,French and Dutch) and is a translator for English, German and French into Dutch.
"Language is my passion. Having grown up in the border area between Dutch Limburg, Germany and Belgium and being a native speaker of Limburgian (a strong regional dialect / minority language) I have always been very aware of the importance of language."

Paul is assisted by his wife Kirsten Hölsgens-Erkenbosch MA. She studied German linguistics in Nijmegen where they first met. Kirsten translates from German into Dutch and vice versa.
She was born and raised in Kerkrade, a small town situated on the Dutch-German border close to Aachen. What is remarkable is the fact that the local dialect is much closer to the German language than to Dutch, although the town belongs to the Netherlands.

Egbert - French (native speaker)
Bonjour ! My name is Egbert. You probably won't guess it, but I was born and raised in France (though being Dutch). Hence I am a native speaker of French. I lived in Strasbourg untill the age of 18. After getting my Baccalauréat Economie I moved to Maastricht where I studied to become a translator in 1998.
I have a passion foor cooking and giving French lessons. I love sharing my passion for the French language and culture.
